Songs to Play By Ear

Click on the name of a song to hear a recording of the song. Then try to figure out how to play the melody of that song on the piano. Instructions are given for where to put your hands and what note to start on, but after that you're on your own!

Mary Had a Little Lamb - Can be played with one hand. Place your right hand thumb on Middle C. Your first note will be E (finger 3).

The Itsy Bitsy Spider - Uses both hands. Put both thumbs on Middle C. Your first note will be left hand G (LH finger 4).

Row, Row, Row Your Boat - Uses both hands. Put both thumbs on Middle C. Your first note will be left hand G (LH finger 4).

Old MacDonald - Uses both hands. Put both thumbs on Middle C. Your first note will be Middle C.

This Old Man - Uses both hands. Put both thumbs on Middle C. Your first note will be D (RH finger 2).

Baa Baa Black Sheep - Uses both hands. Put both thumbs on Middle C. Your first note will be left hand G (LH finger 4).
